A nonchalant ballad of the distant future. Vegetation emanates its essence; technology serves nature—probing and eradicating excess. Time fractures. The last humans are ritual servitors, enacting ceremonies of decay as they inhale reality. The video’s structure mimics a deathbed stream of consciousness.
Filmed near Jelenia Góra—a Polish region that was German territory before WWII. Postwar displacements (expulsions of Germans, repopulation with eastern repatriates) severed generational ties to the land. Once geologically exploited for riches, the area now embodies chaos and entropy: German aristocratic palaces, looted and skeletal, stand as architectural ghosts consumed by flora and fauna.
The work deconstructs time’s linearity through video, oscillating between forward/backward narration. Symbols hybridize Slavic and Germanic myths (water’s liminality, the stag as tree incarnate).
